Rev-up4DSI is an annual event where 150 motorcyclists tour around Ireland, doing over 1000km during the three days of the May Bank Holiday weekend.
The first Rev-up 4 DSI event was held in 2005. Since then participants, collectively, have covered over 540,000 kilometres, raising in excess of €820,000 in much needed funds for DSI.
The 2010 event, the fifth Anniversary, we hope will smash the €1,000,000 mark.
Anyone who has a friend, family member or relation with Down Syndrome knows what a difference the support provided by Down Syndrome Ireland can make to their lives.
In the current economic climate, I appreciate that increased taxes, pay cuts and job losses make donating to a charity an extra stretch. But, to maintain existing services such as the National Resource Team, to the members and their families Down Syndrome Ireland needs to raise a minimum of €2,000,000 annually. Small amounts add up, so please give what you can comfortably afford.
As in past years, I am covering the cost of my participation with a personal donation to DSI. Anyone who sponsors me will not be funding my three day trip around Ireland. All the money you donate goes directly into the DSI coffers.
